Case Study: Guyrobb Electrics

Client: Jon Robbins, Director
Industry: Electrical & Construction

Established in 1966 by Bill Robbins, Guyrobb Electrics (formerly W & AJ Robbins) has built a strong reputation for quality electrical and communications services across Melbourne. The business has evolved from small residential installations to a semi-commercial operation employing more than 40 people - including qualified electricians, cablers, and renewable energy specialists.

When Jon Robbins joined his father’s business in the 1980s, he brought with him a hands-on approach and deep commitment to service. By the mid-1990s, Jon became a partner and later assumed full ownership, steering Guyrobb into its next phase of growth.

By 2014, the business was ready for a more structured, financially informed approach. That’s when Jon partnered with Smart Business Solutions Group.

“When I first met Shannon, I was looking for an accountant who could make the numbers practical. She took the time to understand how my business works and made everything relatable.

We meet monthly and have done so since the beginning. Those meetings give me visibility and confidence - I can see what’s working, what’s not, and where to focus next.

Shannon is my sounding board for every aspect of my business. She’s adaptable, practical, and proactive. With her input, I have information, visibility, and understanding.”
